Our Story

From as early as we could remember, our family lived for entertaining. Our grandmother’s house was a hub for family and friends with an open door policy. She feverishly decked out the house with her DIY decorations, delicately placed her vintage china and gold silverware on her dining room table meant only for special occasions and ensured without a shred of a doubt, everyone was stuffed to the brim with her delicious homemade meals.

As time went on our mom carried on her traditions, and inevitably we inherited the love for hosting. Between the two of us, we gained experience in event planning, interior design, PR, and sales. We always thought we would create a business out of a passion project but were surprised by the circumstances that prompted it.

In 2020 when the pandemic hit, we learned a few things:

  • First responders and essential workers are unsung heroes we don’t value enough.
  • The rise in popularity of TikTok and Tiger King was a scary time.
  • People love banana bread.
  • How to stay safe and hygienic. V important.

Most importantly, we learned that the simple act of gathering is the most fundamental component of human development. For the longest time, we took that for granted. As a corona bride who got engaged in 2018, both of us fantasized about large-scaled over the top lavish weddings and events. The pandemic set us straight and forced us to evaluate what is most important to us – doing what we love with the people we love.

Bringing it back to the basics of our childhood, we sought out to create beautiful events in our own home. We combined the luxury of bespoke events with the warmth of our own backyard to pull together an intimate gathering among those most near and dear to us. And thus, Ardency was born.
